Our Pastor and First Lady

Pastor Michael Curry

Pastor Michael Curry is a native of Warrenton, Georgia where he was reared in a Christian family home. He is the son of the late Robert W. Curry, Jr. and the late Agnes Curry. He is married to Sharon Stuckey Curry (a native of Dublin/Laurens County) and they are the proud parents of one lovely daughter Sharonica. He is currently the Senior Pastor of the Hickory Grove Missionary Baptist Church where he has served for approximately 10 years.

Pastor Curry’s academic background includes the following:  He is a graduate of Warren County High School, Warrenton, Georgia; a graduate of Fort Valley State College with a B.S. degree in Plant Science and a minor in Agriculture Education. He is a 2014 graduate of Andersonville Theological Seminary with a Master’s in Biblical Counseling.  His future plans include pursuing a Ph.D. in Biblical Counseling.

He is a member of the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Warrenton, GA where he served in many capacities.  He is the former Pastor of the Greater New Evergreen Baptist Church of East Dublin, GA and the New Bethel Baptist Church of Irwinton, GA.  He is currently employed with the USDA, Rural Development in Sandersville, GA as a Community Development Specialist with 29 years of service.  He is a member of the Chaplin staff at the Washington Regional Medical Center in Sandersville, GA.  He is a member of the Washington  County NAACP.

Pastor Curry reaches out to all ages and has a genuine spirit of love. He is a role model for other young men to emulate. His motto for life comes from Philippians 4:13 “I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me.” 


Our First Lady

Sharon Stuckey Curry is a native of Dublin/Laurens County Georgia. She is the daughter of the Late Danny and Lillie Mae Stuckey. She is married to Rev. Michael Curry and they are the proud parents of one lovely daughter, Sharonica.

She is a 1983 graduate of West Laurens High School. She received an Associate’s Degree from Middle Georgia College, Bachelor’s Degree from Georgia Southern University and a Master’s Degree from Andersonville Theological Seminary.  Her future plans include pursuing a PhD in Biblical Counseling and she plans to become an Elementary School Teacher. 

She currently resides in Sandersville, Georgia. She is employed with Regency Hospital Company as Nutrition Director. She is affiliated with several professional organizations. She is a member of the ANFP (Association of Nutrition and Foodservice Professionals); she is a Certified Dietary Manager, A Certified Food Protection Professional and a Certified Servsafe Instructor.

She is a member of the Mt. Tilla Baptist Church in Nicklesville, Georgia. She received her religious training under the leadership of Rev. Johnny Hood. She served in several capacities, including: Youth Ministry, Sunday School Secretary, Youth Choir, Women Ministry and the Usher’s Ministry.

She is currently under watch care at the Hickory Grove Missionary Baptist Church where her husband is Senior Pastor. She serves in many capacities, including: First Lady, Youth Director, Youth Sunday School Teacher, Youth Bible Study Teacher, President of the Women of Promise, Chairperson of the Orange Team and Spirit Day Coordinator. 

First Lady Curry enjoys working with her husband and leading God’s people. She loves teaching and spending time with the Youth. Her ultimate Goal is to be a light and an example that young women can emulate. Her motto for life is:  “If I can help somebody as I pass along, If I can spread God’s message with a word or song, If I can show somebody he’s traveling wrong then my living shall not be in vain.”
